v21 means Season 21, or Chapter 3: Season 3.Other numbers in the last digit such as a 5, 6, or 9 are test updates and are never released. The second number after the decimal point is usually a 0 but can be a 1 for either content updates or minor patches. The first number after the decimal point indicates the patch number of that season. The version number is currently formatted where the first digits indicate the Season, counting since Season 1. During Summer and Winter seasons, Epic Games staff take a holiday break, so there is usually a 4-week gap between major updates, but content updates can still happen. A week prior, the update is put in staging servers, where Epic Games privately test the update and fix any bugs prior to release. Content Updates and Hotfixes are released when there are no major updates. Major updates are usually released every two weeks, on a Tuesday. Unvaulted and/or Vaulted items, though they could contain a new Weapon/Item instead.They are Content Updates with less content, they contain:.
